地方便者有四種：一者攝取妙法方便，住持妙法以樂說力為人說故；二者攝取善知識方便，以依善知識所作應作故；三者攝取眾生方便，以不捨眾生故；四者攝取智方便，以教化眾生令入彼智故。

As for the skillful means of the bhūmis, there are four kinds: first, the skillful means of gathering the sublime Dharma, because by upholding the sublime Dharma one expounds it to others with the power of delight in speech; second, the skillful means of gathering good spiritual friends, because one performs what ought to be performed by relying on good spiritual friends; third, the skillful means of gathering sentient beings, because one does not abandon sentient beings; fourth, the skillful means of gathering wisdom, because one teaches and transforms sentient beings so as to cause them to enter that wisdom.
