"Furthermore, bestowing teaching to cause them to accomplish": from above up to this point clarified that the Buddha expounds the Dharma to cause sentient beings to accomplish their own practice; now the second part explains the sūtra, clarifying that the Buddha expounds the Dharma to cause sentient beings to accomplish the transformation of others. If connected successively, this explains the seventh [item] in the extensive sūtra, "accomplishing practice in accordance with the minds of sentient beings," namely the statements of "what dharmas" and "how dharmas." Question: How is it known that the former causes sentient beings to accomplish their own practice, and the latter causes sentient beings to accomplish the practice of transforming others? Answer: In the treatise, after the Buddha and the treatise master finish their two-fold explanation of the seven dharmas, it generally states that these seven dharmas are for ripening the good performed by sentient beings themselves; thus we know the former is the accomplishment of one's own practice. Next it immediately states, "furthermore, bestowing teaching to cause them to attain accomplishment"; thus we know it is the practice of teaching and transforming others. The text has two parts: first, generally clarifying the transformation of others; second, individually and meticulously clarifying the transformation of others with reference to the five dharmas. In the first there are also two parts: first, quoting the section heading of bestowing the transformation of others, hence saying "furthermore, bestowing teaching to cause them to attain accomplishment."
