[The treatise] briefly correlates two flavors, stating that the Hinayāna is like milk and the Mahāyāna is identical to ghee. As for "This simile clarifies the supremacy of the Mahāyāna," drawing from the correlation of flavors, it takes only one flavor as the simile; that is to say, this sūtra only clarifies the supremacy of the Mahāyāna, which is compared to ghee. "All the śrāvakas and others also partake in the Mahāyāna" explains the preceding "only clarifies the supremacy of the Mahāyāna." From "As for the śrāvakas being the same" onwards, it further explains that among the śrāvakas there is also identical participation in the meaning of the Mahāyāna.
