2.124

何等二種？一者器世間清淨、二者眾生世間清淨。器世間清淨者，如向說十七種莊嚴佛土功德成就，是名器世間清淨。眾生世間清淨者，如向說八種莊嚴佛功德成就、四種莊嚴菩薩功德成就，是名眾生世間清淨。如是一法句攝二種清淨義應知。

"What are the two kinds? The first is the purity of the vessel world; the second is the purity of the sentient-being world. The purity of the vessel world refers to the previously explained seventeen kinds of perfection of the adornment of merits of the Buddha land; this is called the purity of the vessel world. The purity of the sentient-being world refers to the previously explained eight kinds of perfection of the adornment of the Buddha's merits and four kinds of perfection of the adornment of the bodhisattvas' merits; this is called the purity of the sentient-being world. One should know that this single Dharma phrase thus subsumes the meanings of both kinds of purity."
