「有說變礙故名為色」者，第二釋。色可變有礙，可變謂可變壞故，有礙謂有礙用故。
"Some say that because it undergoes transformation and resistance (pratighāta), it is called matter": This is the second explanation. Matter is transformable and has resistance: 'transformable' means it can undergo deterioration, and 'having resistance' means it possesses resistive functioning.
