論「有說變礙故名為色」，第二釋也。色可變、有礙。可變，謂可變壞故。有礙，謂有礙用故。
[The text of the] Treatise states: "Some say that it is called matter because of alterability and resistance," which is the second explanation. Matter is alterable and possesses resistance. 'Alterable' means because it is liable to deterioration. 'Possessing resistance' means because it has an obstructive function.
