「何法名為至說對法耶」者，此下大文第二明正宗。前解正宗雖有三說，今依初說。就正宗中，一明前八品、二明後一品。就前八品中，一總標章、二別解釋。此下總標。問：何法名為彼無漏慧所以簡擇法，因此傳佛說能簡擇對法耶？舉能簡擇，問所簡擇。虛空、非擇滅，雖非是彼無漏慧緣，答文義便兼明彼二。又解：彼者，有漏、無漏慧，以頌答中亦說虛空、非擇滅故。

"What dharma is called […] was the Abhidharma spoken?": from here down is the second major section, clarifying the main doctrine. Although there were previously three explanations of the main doctrine, we now rely on the first explanation. Within the main doctrine: first, explaining the first eight chapters; second, explaining the final one chapter. Within the first eight chapters: first, a general statement of topics; second, specific explanations. From here down is the general statement of topics. Question: What dharma is that which is investigated by that untainted wisdom, by reason of which the Buddha is traditionally said to have spoken the Abhidharma that is capable of investigation? Mentioning what does the investigating, he asks about what is investigated. Although space and non-deliberate cessation are not the cognitive objects of that untainted wisdom, in the phrasing of the answer it is convenient to clarify them concurrently. Another explanation: "that" refers to tainted and untainted wisdom, since in the answer of the verses, space and non-deliberate cessation are also mentioned.
