10.18

「又說無明至異慧能染」者，以第四句釋，證非是慧。經說無明能染於慧，故知慧體非即無明，豈慧還能染污於慧？

[On the Kośa's statement:] "Moreover, it is taught that ignorance [pollutes wisdom, and that other wisdom is capable of polluting wisdom]": this explains [the point] by the fourth line [of the verse], demonstrating that it is not wisdom. The sūtra states that ignorance can pollute wisdom; therefore, we know that the essence of wisdom is not itself ignorance. How could wisdom in turn pollute wisdom?
