Regarding "In those who die suddenly ... all ends at once in one place": this is the answer. In truth, the mental consciousness has no physical location, but when it is said to cease at the same place as the body, it means that at the locus where the body ceases, the mental consciousness ceases along with it; it does not have a physical location. Therefore the *Nyāyānusāra* says: "Consciousnesses such as the eye [consciousness], relying on the physical sense organs, do not even have a physical location, how much less the mental consciousness! Therefore, the cessation of the mental consciousness is explained with reference to the body sense-faculty (end of treatise citation)." The rest of the text can be understood. Furthermore, *Mahāvibhāṣā* 69 says: "For one born into an evil destiny, consciousness ceases at the feet; for one born among humans, consciousness ceases at the navel; for one born into heaven, consciousness ceases at the throat; for one who enters parinirvāṇa, consciousness ceases at the heart."
