「若於無依至福業增長」者，問。若有依福，由彼受者受用物時功德、攝益有差別故，令其施者福業增長，此事可然。若於無依諸福業事，但聞他方諸佛出世遠生敬心無物施，彼德、益差別，如何可得相續身中福業增長？

"If regarding supportless ... the increase of meritorious karma" asks: If in the case of merit with a support, due to differences in the virtues and benefits when the recipient consumes the items, the donor's meritorious karma is caused to increase, this would indeed be plausible. But regarding various supportless bases of meritorious karma, when one merely hears of the appearance of Buddhas in other directions and gives rise from afar to a mind of reverence without any material gift, where could such distinctions of virtue and benefit be obtained to cause an increase of meritorious karma in their continuum?
