「前說為善」者，論主評取前家隨心地繫。心是親強、身是疎弱，故諸色業隨心判性。若諸色業隨身地繫，此色業性應亦隨身。身謂命根、眾同分等，體是無記。此諸色業皆應隨身是無記性，不通善、染，便成大過。由此故知隨心地繫，前說為善。

Regarding "The former statement is correct": the author of the treatise evaluates and accepts the former school, [holding that it is] bound to the plane of the mind. The mind is intimate and strong; the body is distant and weak. Therefore, all material karma has its nature determined in accordance with the mind. If all material karma were bound to the plane of the body, the nature of this material karma would also have to follow the body. The body consists of the vital faculty, group-homogeneity, and the like, whose intrinsic nature is unspecified. All such material karma would then, following the body, have to be of an unspecified nature, not extending to good or defiled, which would lead to a great flaw. From this, one knows that it is bound to the plane of the mind, and the former statement is correct.
