「修斷意識至外門起故」者，釋第七句。修斷意識有分別故能作轉，外門起故能作隨轉。
"The mental consciousness abandoned through cultivation... because it arises in the external sphere": this explains the seventh line. Because the mental consciousness abandoned through cultivation has conceptual discrimination, it can act as the motivator; because it arises in the external sphere, it can act as the concurrent motivator.
