「於如是義至一晝夜戒」者，經部師言：於如是義應共尋思。為佛正觀一晝夜後，理無容起近住律儀，如汝所說，故於經中說一晝夜？為觀所化根難調者，經中且據一晝夜戒；根若易調，授多亦得，如我所言？
"Regarding such a point [up to:] the precepts for one day and night": The Sautrāntika master says: Regarding such a point, we should investigate together. Was it because the Buddha correctly observed that after one day and night, in principle there is no possibility for the upavāsa discipline to arise, just as you say, that he spoke of one day and night in the scripture?
