Regarding the third, 'Conforming to feeling by object of cognition, up to because it feels the object of cognition': it means that all cognitive objects are the objects of cognition of feeling. These objects of cognition conform to the feeling that takes them as objects, and are therefore called conforming to feeling by object of cognition. As the sūtra says: 'Having seen form with the eye, mental consciousness feels only the form, and does not feel the craving that takes form as its object.' Another explanation: 'The eye sees form' refers to the visual faculty. 'Having seen form' refers to mental consciousness. The rest of the explanation is as before. It should be understood that it is the same up to the object of dharmas; it specifically apprehends the six objects and does not feel the craving for form. It is cited because the wording corresponds.
