"Wrong view alone arises with respect to name-and-form": this explains its arising with respect to name-and-form, which is the third section. The form aggregate is form; the remaining four aggregates are name. Although wrong view can also take analytical cessation as its object, here it is stated merely in terms of taking the conditioned as an object. Another explanation: The form aggregate is form, and the remaining four aggregates as well as analytical cessation are name. Wrong view does not take space and non-analytical cessation as objects; here they are not said to be subsumed under name. When it is said that "all non-material phenomena are called name," the *Mahāvibhāṣā* says: "All phenomena have two divisions: form and non-form. Because name is within the non-form division, the non-form division is collectively called name." Question: Why does wrong view say it arises with respect to name-and-form, rather than saying it arises with respect to sentient beings, articles of utility, names, and so forth? Explanation: Wrong view denies all causes and effects, and name-and-form encompasses all causes and effects. Causes and effects are subsumed under the four truths, and the expression 'name-and-form' is comprehensive; hence it is said to arise with respect to name-and-form. Wrong view also denies insentient things, so it is not said to arise with respect to sentient beings. Wrong view also denies what are not articles of utility, so it is not said to arise with respect to articles of utility. Wrong view also denies what are not names and so forth, so it is not said to arise with respect to names and so forth. Furthermore, denying name-and-form also denies sentient beings, articles of utility, names, and so forth; hence it is not separately said to rely on these three.
