「有餘師執至非資命故」者，敘異說。有餘師執：緣彼活命諸資生具，貪欲所生身、語二業方名邪命，非餘貪生身、語二業是邪命攝。所以者何？為自戲樂作歌舞等非資命故，非是邪命，是邪語業。
[On the phrase] “Other masters hold … because they do not sustain life”: this relates a different explanation. Other masters hold: only bodily and vocal karma produced from greed regarding the requisites of sustaining life are called wrong livelihood; other bodily and vocal karma produced from greed are not subsumed under wrong livelihood. Why is this? Because singing, dancing, and the like done for one's own amusement do not sustain life, they are not wrong livelihood, but are wrong vocal and bodily karma.
