「此善根斷其體是何」者，釋非得。或頌中斷唯屬於下，應知釋斷非得。或通上下。此即問也。

"What is the intrinsic nature of this severance of the roots of good?": This explains non-possession (*aprāpti*). Or, the word "severance" in the verse belongs solely to what follows, so one should know that it explains severance as non-possession; or it applies to both above and below. This is a question.
