17.52

「亦有能續至非餘位故」者，答。亦有現身能續善根，除造逆人彼非現續。引經證彼造逆人斷善非現身續。

"There are also those who can resume [them in the present life, except for those who committed immediate retribution, because they resume them in another state]": This is the answer. There are also those who can resume the roots of good in the present life, except for those who committed the acts of immediate retribution (*ānantarya*); they do not resume them in the present [life]. A sūtra is cited to prove that those who commit acts of immediate retribution and sever the roots of good do not resume them in the present life.
