「謂熏習心至是故獨名修」者，答。修是熏習義，謂熏習心以定地善，於心相續起，極能熏習，令成功德體類，故獨名修。喻況可知。

"It means perfuming the mind ... therefore it alone is named cultivation": this is the answer. "Cultivation" has the meaning of perfuming; it means perfuming the mind with the wholesomeness of the plane of concentration, arising in the continuum of the mind, intensely perfuming it and causing it to accomplish the nature and category of virtues; hence it alone is named cultivation. The analogy can be understood.
