「以諸地道至非欲三所緣」者，答。以諸地中法智品道、類智品道，各互相望同類因故。由相因故，若緣法智即緣六地，若緣類智即緣九地。雖法智品與類智品亦互相望為同類因，而類智品不治欲界，由別治故，故類智品道非是欲界三種所緣。

Regarding "Because the paths of the various levels ... not the cognitive objects of the three of Kāma": this is the answer. Because the paths of the category of dharmajñāna and the category of anvayajñāna across the various levels are mutually sabhāga-hetu for one another. Owing to being mutual causes, if one apprehends dharmajñāna, one apprehends six levels; if one apprehends anvayajñāna, one apprehends nine levels. Although the category of dharmajñāna and the category of anvayajñāna are also mutually sabhāga-hetu for one another, the category of anvayajñāna does not counteract the Kāmadhātu; because of having different counteractions, the path of the category of anvayajñāna is not the cognitive object of the three [anuśayas] of the Kāmadhātu.
