「法智品既能至各三所緣」者，難。欲界修位滅、道法智，既能治上色、無色界，應為彼八各三所緣。

As for "Since the category of the knowledge of phenomena is capable of [counteracting the upper realms] ... [each should be the object of three]": This is an objection. Since the knowledge of phenomena regarding cessation and the path in the stage of cultivation in the desire realm can counteract the higher form and formless realms, they should be the objects of the three [defilements] in each of those eight [higher stages].
