On the passage from "However, that questioner" to "should be answered by counter-questioning": here the author of the treatise resolves the issue. That questioner asked categorically: Are humans superior or inferior? If you say they are both superior and inferior, this is not a categorical answer, and therefore it should constitute an analytical answer; how could it be called a categorical answer? Since one does not thoroughly know the prior questioner's intent, one should only interrogate in which direction the question's intent lies. If they say relative to the gods, one should answer that humans are inferior; if they say relative to the lower, miserable destinies, one should answer that humans are superior. Therefore, this is called an answer to be given by counter-questioning.
