「和合有情故名為軛」者，合名為軛。和合有情受生死苦，猶如車軛，故名為軛。

Regarding "Because they yoke sentient beings, they are called yokes (yoga)": joining together is called a yoke. They yoke sentient beings to undergo the suffering of saṃsāra, just like the yoke of a cart; therefore they are called yokes.
