「是則過去至世相應雜」者，經部復難。過去因等既能與果，應有作用。既有作用，亦應名現。有半作用，世相應有雜亂之過。

Regarding "Then the past ... temporal characteristics would be confounded": the Sautrāntika objects again: Since a past cause and the like can give a fruit, it should possess activity. Since it possesses activity, it should also be called present. If it has half an activity, there would be the fault of confounding the temporal characteristics.
