「餘位亦有至是故不說」者，餘異生位雖復亦有極七返生得般涅槃，然非決定，或有過者，是故不說。聖極唯七，是故別說。故《正理》六十四云「若於人趣得預流果，人中滿七，天准應知。非聖亦有極七返生相續成就得涅槃義，然非決定，是故不說。」

[On the passage] from "In other states there are also" down to "therefore it is not stated": in other states of ordinary worldlings, although there are also those who attain parinirvāṇa with a maximum of seven returns of rebirth, it is nevertheless not determinate, and there may be those who exceed it; therefore it is not stated. For the noble one, it is strictly at most seven; therefore it is specifically stated. Hence the Nyāyānusāra, fascicle 64, states: "If one attains the fruit of a stream-enterer in the human destiny, human births are complete at seven; for the devas it should be known by analogy. Among non-nobles there is also the sense of the continuum's accomplishment attaining nirvāṇa in at most seven returns of rebirth; however, it is not determinate, and therefore it is not stated."
