23.72

「論曰至如果花樹」者，釋初三句，舉後等流果即苦法智。樹生花果，名花果樹。忍生法智，名法智忍。餘文可知。

"The Śāstra says ... like a fruit and flower tree" explains the first three lines, citing the subsequent outflow fruit (niṣyanda-phala), which is the dharma-knowledge of suffering (duḥkhe dharma-jñānam). A tree producing flowers and fruits is called a flower-and-fruit tree; receptivity (kṣānti) producing dharma-knowledge is called receptivity to dharma-knowledge (dharma-jñāna-kṣānti). The rest of the text can be understood.
