「已辨一來至斷九不還果」者，此即第三明不還向果。就中，一明不還向、果，二明不還差別。此即第一明不還向、果。結前生起。就頌答中，上三句明向，下一句明果。就向中，上兩句明一間，第三句正明向。

"Having explained the once-returner... abandoning nine is the non-returner fruit": this is the third [section], clarifying the aspirant to and fruit of the non-returner. Herein: first, clarifying the aspirant to and fruit of the non-returner; second, clarifying the distinctions of the non-returner. This is the first, clarifying the aspirant to and fruit of the non-returner. It concludes what preceded and introduces what follows. In the verse's answer, the upper three lines clarify the aspirant, and the lower one line clarifies the fruit. Within the aspirant, the upper two lines clarify the ekavīcika, and the third line directly clarifies the aspirant.
