「通於二位至涅槃城故」者，通於見、修二位建立八聖道支，俱通直往無餘涅槃城故。或此涅槃亦通有餘。

Regarding "Common to both stages... because of the city of nirvāṇa": common to both the stages of seeing and cultivation, the eight limbs of the noble path are established, because both straightly lead to the city of remainderless nirvāṇa (nirupadhiśeṣa-nirvāṇa). Or, this nirvāṇa also extends to that with remainder (sopadhiśeṣa).
