「如契經說至亦修圓滿」者，餘師引經證八聖道支亦通修位。經文既言於八道支修圓滿者，乃至七覺亦修圓滿，故知八道亦通修道。若言七覺修道、八在見道，寧修八時七亦圓滿？以此明知，據修道位修八滿時名修圓滿。

Regarding "As the sūtra states... also cultivated to perfection": the other masters cite a sūtra to prove that the eight limbs of the noble path also extend to the stage of cultivation. Since the sūtra text says that for one who cultivates the eight path factors to perfection, up to the seven limbs of awakening are also cultivated to perfection, one therefore knows that the eight path factors also extend to the path of cultivation. If one were to say that the seven limbs of awakening belong to the path of cultivation while the eight belong to the path of seeing, how could it be that when the eight are cultivated, the seven are also brought to perfection? By this it is clearly known that, based on the stage of the path of cultivation, when cultivating the eight to perfection, it is called cultivated to perfection.
