「學無學位至三道各二故」者，此下大文第二明七種聖人。就中，一明建立七人；二明慧、俱解脫。此即第一明建立七人。依彼七名而為二問，上兩句答初問，下兩句答後問。

"The stages of śaikṣa and aśaikṣa... because the three paths each have two" is, in the second major division below, explaining the seven kinds of noble persons. Within this, first, explaining the establishment of the seven persons; second, explaining liberation through wisdom and liberation both ways. This is the first, explaining the establishment of the seven persons. In accordance with those seven names two questions are raised: the upper two lines answer the first question, and the lower two lines answer the second question.
