Regarding "The commentary says: [...] swift is the opposite of this": difficult and pleasant are explained according to the stage; slow and swift are explained according to faculties or persons. Based on the fundamental dhyānas, where tranquility and insight are balanced, when any noble path arises spontaneously, it is called pleasant progress; it is not pleasant feeling. If based on other stages, where tranquility and insight are unequal, when any noble path arises with difficulty, it is called difficult progress; it is not unpleasant feeling. 'Factors' refers to the factors of dhyāna; the rest of the text can be understood. Furthermore, the *Nyāyānusāra*, fascicle 71, states: "This progress has the five skandhas or four skandhas as its nature, differentiated by reliance on the form concentrations or formless concentrations. Yet it is called 'penetration' to highlight the superiority of wisdom. Just as in the stage of the path of seeing, although it possesses all five skandhas, because wisdom is superior, it is uniquely given the name 'seeing'."
