On "The verse states […] and also shared with ordinary beings": This explains the Buddha's shared qualities, namely: non-contentiousness (araṇā), knowledge resulting from resolve (praṇidhijñāna), the four unobstructed knowledges (pratisaṃvid), the six supernormal powers (abhijñā), the four dhyānas, the four formless attainments, the eight meditative attainments (samāpatti), the three samādhis—translated here as attainments—the four immeasurables (apramāṇa), the eight liberations (vimokṣa), the eight spheres of mastery (abhibhvāyatana), the ten spheres of totality (kṛtsnāyatana), and so forth, as appropriate. The first three doors are shared only with the two vehicles, while the supernormal powers, dhyānas, and so on are also shared with ordinary beings. The *Nyāyānusāra* states: "Although the aspects of all the qualities in the Buddha's person are pure, supremely superior, and sovereign, distinct from the qualities of the disciples and so forth, nevertheless, based on their sharing the same class, they are said to be 'shared'."
