On the passage beginning with "The treatise states" up to "are also shared with ordinary worldlings": This explains the first three lines, listing the names of the six supernormal knowledges. "Psychic power" (ṛddhi) means concentration (samādhi); "domain" (viṣaya) means what is to be performed; when knowledge realizes this domain without hindrance, it is called "supernormal knowledge" (abhijñā). Taking its name from the concentration, the domain, and the realizing [agent], it is named "the supernormal knowledge of the realization through knowledge of psychic power" (ṛddhi-viṣaya-jñāna-sākṣātkriyābhijñā). Although the other supernormal knowledges also rely upon concentration, the characteristic of this supernormal knowledge is patent, so it is uniquely designated with the name "psychic power." The divine eye and divine ear are the relying sense faculties; knowledge is the wisdom associated with the two consciousnesses [visual and auditory]; and knowledge cognizing the two objects without hindrance is called "supernormal knowledge." Taking their names from the faculties and the realizing [agents], they are called "the supernormal knowledge of the realization through knowledge of the divine eye" and "the supernormal knowledge of the realization through knowledge of the divine ear." Taking its name from the preparatory application (prayogā) and the realizing knowledge, it is named "the supernormal knowledge of the realization through knowledge of another's mind." Taking its name from the object, the associated [factors], and the realizing knowledge, it is named "the supernormal knowledge of the realization through knowledge of recollecting past abodes." If nirvāṇa is called "the exhaustion of contaminations" (āsravakṣaya), taking its name from the realized [object] and the realizing knowledge, it is named "the supernormal knowledge of the realization through knowledge of the exhaustion of contaminations." If a body in which contaminations are exhausted is called "exhaustion of contaminations," taking its name from the relying basis and the realizing knowledge, it is named "the supernormal knowledge of the realization through knowledge of the exhaustion of contaminations." Among the six supernormal knowledges, the sixth belongs solely to noble ones; the first five are common to ordinary worldlings, and based on the majority and the general case, they are said to be "shared with ordinary worldlings."
