「論曰至應成善故」者，釋初句。味定緣自，不緣下、上及無漏法。

Regarding 'The commentary says ... for it would then become wholesome': this explains the first line. Concentrated attainment tainted with attachment takes itself as object; it does not take lower, higher, or uncontaminated dharmas as object.
