28.85

「又契經說至非即輕安」者，經部又引經證初、二樂非是輕安。又契經說：若於爾時諸聖弟子於離欲染生喜身中證得此定，具足成就安住彼定，彼於爾時已斷五順下分法，或已斷五蓋法，修習五法皆得圓滿究竟。廣說乃至問答可知。此經輕安與樂別說故，初、二定樂非即是輕安。

"Furthermore, the sūtra states... is not pliancy itself" is the Sautrāntika's citation of scriptural proof that the pleasure of the first and second [dhyānas] is not pliancy. Furthermore, the sūtra states: If at that time the noble disciple, within the body that has generated joy born of separation from desire, attains this concentration, fully accomplishes and abides in that concentration, at that time he has abandoned the five lower-binding fetters, or has abandoned the five hindrances, and his cultivation of the five dharmas has attained complete fulfillment—expounded at length up to: the question and answer can be understood. In this sūtra, pliancy and pleasure are spoken of separately; therefore the pleasure of the first and second dhyānas is not pliancy itself.
