「八中初二至如第三解脫」者，釋下三句。八勝處中，初二勝處自性地等，如初解脫，是初解脫果故。次二勝處自性地等，如第二解脫，是第二解脫果故。後四勝處自性地等，如第三解脫，是第三解脫果故。

"Among the eight, the first two... are like the third deliverance": this explains the lower three lines. Among the eight bases of mastery, the nature, stage, and so on of the first two bases of mastery are like the first deliverance, because they are the fruit of the first deliverance. The nature, stage, and so on of the next two bases of mastery are like the second deliverance, because they are the fruit of the second deliverance. The nature, stage, and so on of the last four bases of mastery are like the third deliverance, because they are the fruit of the third deliverance.
