30.50

「於非我中至起見瘡皰」者，論主答。汝若計言：於非我中橫計為我，容起我愛非實我中者。破云：如是所言無理為證。故彼犢子於佛教中，無有因緣怱然橫起我見瘡皰。

Regarding 'In what is not a self [...] erupting into the blister of views': the author of the treatise answers. If you maintain that: 'It is only in what is not a self that one falsely imagines a self, where self-craving can arise, but not in a real self'; he refutes it, saying: 'What is thus stated has no reasoning to substantiate it.' Therefore, that Vātsīputrīya, within the Buddha's teaching, without any cause or condition, suddenly and groundlessly erupts into the blister of the view of self.
