「應知睡眠至如例應知」者，釋下兩句。應知睡眠與前所說五種心品皆不相違，有皆增一。睡眠通三性者，據有夢說；若無夢時，唯是無記。

"One should know that sleep (middha) [...] should be known by analogy": this explains the lower two lines. One should know that sleep is not contradictory to any of the five kinds of mental categories previously explained; when present, it adds one to each. Sleep extending to the three natures is spoken of with respect to dreaming; when there is no dream, it is exclusively indeterminate.
