「中間靜慮至如前具有」者，釋不兩句。上地漸細，漸離災患故。中定除尋，上兼除伺，二定已上無眾相依、王臣等別，亦無諂、誑，餘皆如前具有。

"The intermediate dhyāna [...] are fully present as before": this explains the lower two lines. Because the higher stages become progressively subtle and gradually separate from calamities, the intermediate dhyāna eliminates vitarka, and those above additionally eliminate vicāra. From the second dhyāna upward, there are no distinctions of mutually dependent assemblies or kings and ministers, nor are there deceit (śāṭhya) or flattery (māyā); the rest are all fully present as before.
