Regarding the passage from "The expression 'not seeing what is dreadful'" up to "is called not seeing what is dreadful": This is an external objection: What meaning is the expression "not seeing what is dreadful" intended to convey? Does seeing the dreadful fruition of that fault and yet not being terrified by it count as "not seeing what is dreadful"? Or does not seeing that dreadful fruition of the fault count as "not seeing what is dreadful"? Another interpretation: Does seeing the fault and not being terrified count as "not seeing what is dreadful"? This question attributes the dread to the mind—namely, cowardice and dread directed toward the object. Does not seeing the dreadful fruition belonging to that fault count as "not seeing what is dreadful"? This question attributes the dread to the object—namely, the fruition that is dreaded.
