6.11

「應知此生時至是能作因」者，答。智起、光生，於彼漏、眼實能為障。應知此漏生時及覩眾星生時，彼智、日光皆無障住，故智、日光於此漏、眼是能作因。

"It should be known that when this arises […] is an efficient cause:" answer. When knowledge arises and sunlight is generated, they can indeed act as obstructions to those outflows and the eye. It should be known that when this outflow arises and when the seeing of the stars arises, that knowledge and sunlight both abide without obstruction; therefore, knowledge and sunlight are efficient causes with respect to this outflow and the eye.
