"Such four fruits, up to: 'are subsumed under the fruit of empowerment'": the masters of the Kaśmīra country provide a harmonizing explanation. Such four fruits are all subsumed under the fruit of virile activity (puruṣakāra-phala) and the fruit of empowerment (adhipati-phala). If viewed from the perspective of being attained through the force and power of the cause, they are called fruits of virile activity. If viewed from the perspective of being attained through the cause's acting capacity (kāraka-śakti), they are fruits of empowerment. Not being induced by wholesome or unwholesome karma, they are not fruits of maturation. Because they are not similar [to their causes], they are not fruits of outflow (niṣyanda-phala). Because they are not realized through abandonment, they are not fruits of disjunction (visaṃyoga-phala). Another explanation is: the first and third are exclusively fruits of empowerment; the second and fourth extend to both fruits of virile activity and fruits of empowerment. For the fruit of virile activity is obtained by expending effort. When the treatise states that they are all virile activity and empowerment, it is because it speaks in general terms.
