「未來若有本論應說」者，答。未來若有，本論應說。本論但說過去與現、未為同類因，現在與未來為同類因；不說未來為同類因，明知未來無同類因。此即是本論不說過。

"If it existed in the future, the root treatises should have stated it": Answer: If it existed in the future, the root treatises should have stated it. The root treatises only say that the past is a similar cause for the present and future, and the present is a similar cause for the future; they do not say that the future is a similar cause. Clearly we know that the future lacks a similar cause. This is precisely the fault of the root treatises not stating it.
