「此欲辨生至而後說生」者，論主破。此說緣起意欲辨生，何緣說住？設許說住，四相次第應先說生、後方說住，如何非次？

Regarding "This [sūtra] intends to explain arising … and only afterward speak of arising?": the author of the treatise refutes it. This exposition of dependent origination intends to explain arising; for what reason would it speak of abiding? Even granting that it speaks of abiding, according to the sequence of the four characteristics, arising should be stated first, and abiding stated only afterward; why is it out of order?
