"Exposition of the World": "world" (loka) means the worldly realm, because it is subject to destruction and because it has an antidote. This chapter explains it extensively, and is therefore called "exposition." As for why the Chapter on the World is explained next: the preceding two chapters explained the sāsrava and the anāsrava in general, while the six chapters from here on explain the sāsrava and anāsrava in particular. The general is the root, so it was explained first; explaining the particular relies on the general, so the particular is explained later. Within the six chapters that specifically explain them, the first three chapters specifically explain sāsrava phenomena, and the last three chapters specifically explain anāsrava phenomena. The sāsrava is gross and obvious, so it is explained first; the anāsrava is subtle, so it is explained later. Within the specific explanation of the sāsrava, the Chapter on the World explains the fruit of the sāsrava, the Chapter on Karma explains the cause of the sāsrava, and the Chapter on Latent Defilements explains the condition of the sāsrava. Among these three chapters, the characteristics of the fruit are gross and obvious, so they are explained first.
