論「由變壞故」，答也。文中有二釋：一變壞、二變礙。就前釋中，文有三段：一略標、二引文證、三問答。此文初也。

[The text of the] Treatise states: "Because of deterioration (rūpaṇa)," which is the reply. Within the text there are two explanations: first, deterioration; second, alterability and resistance. Within the former explanation, the text has three sections: first, a brief statement; second, citing a textual attestation; third, questions and answers. This text is the first.
