論「法種族義至名十八界」，第三釋界。文有二釋：一種族義、二種類義。此即初也。「如一山中」等，舉喻也。「如是一身或一相續」等，法合也。

The treatise says: "The meaning of clan of dharmas... are called the eighteen realms." This is the third, explaining realms (*dhātu*). In the text there are two explanations: first, the meaning of clan (*gotra*); second, the meaning of category (*prakāra*). This is the first. "Just as in a single mountain..." and so forth gives the simile. "So in a single body or a single continuum..." and so forth is the application of the simile to the doctrine.
