論「但言俱起至何違須釋」，經部通經。就中有二：一總非言不違經、二為通釋。此即初也。經但言俱起受、想、思，不言觸俱，此即通前念觸俱時起後念受、想、思也。故經非證。

On the Śāstra's statement: "It only says 'co-arise' ... what contradiction needs to be resolved?": the Sautrāntika resolves the sūtra. In this there are two points: first, generally denying that it contradicts the sūtra; second, providing a reconciliatory explanation. This is the first. The sūtra only states that feeling, ideation, and volition 'co-arise'; it does not say that they are simultaneous with contact. This allows for the preceding moment's contact to arise together with the subsequent moment's feeling, ideation, and volition. Therefore the sūtra is not proof.
