論「此復何緣至為所緣故」，此責分成十八所以。就此之中有三問也。若由自性但應有三，若由相應應唯有一，若由所緣應唯有六。

[On the Śāstra's statement:] 'Again, by what reason [up to] taking them as objects?', this challenges the reason for dividing them into eighteen. In this, there are three questions: if by essential nature (svabhāva), there should only be three; if by association (samprayoga), there should only be one; if by cognitive object (ālambana), there should only be six.
