10.48

論「觸何為義」，此下第三明觸支也。六處如前已說，故此不明，越次明觸。此中有三：一明六觸、二明二觸、三明八觸。此下第一明六觸也。

The treatise says: "What is the meaning of contact (sparśa)?" From here on is the third part, clarifying the factor of contact. The six āyatanas have already been explained above, so they are not clarified here, and contact is clarified out of order. Herein there are three parts: first, clarifying the six contacts; second, clarifying the two contacts; third, clarifying the eight contacts. From here on is the first part, clarifying the six contacts.
